G Adventures today announced the launch of its “Vaccinated Trips” program where each trip is led by a fully vaccinated experience leader (tour guide) confirmed to lead the tour, on which all travelers must also be fully vaccinated.
In a survey, 56% of travelers around the world said having a travel guide vaccinated was actually more important to them than knowing their travel companions were fully vaccinated, which 45% of travelers said. They would prefer on a small group trip.
Due to the large number of tours and destinations where G Adventures currently operates, the tour operator is also introducing “travel ready” tours to ensure fair access to tourism employment opportunities for guides in destinations that have not yet been able to deliver vaccinations as widely as others, and the operator is also actively helping CEOs access vaccines in their home countries.
For circuits departing from October, 304 departures out of 116 circuits will function as “vaccinated circuits”
and 64 departures will be designated as “travel ready”. On Vaccinated Tours, all travelers and guides must have received a full COVID-19 vaccination with the final dose administered at least 14 days prior to the first day of the tour.
On “Travel-Ready” tours, all travelers and CEOs must have either received a full COVID-19 vaccination or have a negative PCR test within 96 hours of their tour departure. An icon will appear next to each trip at www.gadventures.com to indicate which tour category the departure belongs to.
