There are now diverse Santas at Disney World

Would Disney try to make its holiday celebrations more inclusive this year? It seems like!

According to CNN , Disney World and Disneyland theme parks have shown various depictions of Santa Claus at recent events. WDW News Today also said employees recently shared photos of black Santa Claus taken in parks.

Indeed, a black Saint Nicholas took part in a meet and greet session at Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney World Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This would be the first times in Disney history that the character of Santa Claus has been portrayed by black actors, according to CNN.

Disney, however, has not officially announced that it aims to represent diversity on its sites. On the other hand, a spokesperson for the company would have revealed to CNN that Santa Claus will reflect the diversity of the communities surrounding each of its parks.

The dress code for company employees has also recently been updated to allow gender-neutral tattoos and costumes. Along the same lines, at least two existing rides – Splash Mountain and Jungle Cruise – are also being modernized to reflect inclusion and diversity.

This news has generated a lot of positive reactions on social networks, and this all over the planet.
