The Puerto Vallarta tourism office is organizing a press trip this week (December 2021) with Canadian and American journalists and TravelPulse is on the trip.

The objective of this press trip, which takes place just before Christmas, is to promote the destination of Puerto Vallarta which has just renovated and improved its downtown area and its Maleçon. Also, the destination currently welcomes more flights than before the pandemic, a sign that Puerto Vallarta is on the rise and that 2022 is shaping up to be a very busy season.
Puerto Vallarta’s popular Maleçon is more ready than ever to welcome travelers this winter: nearly 2.5 km long, it connects the downtown area to the hotel zone and runs along the Pacific Ocean for spectacular views.
On day one of the press trip, the group explored the seaside promenade, Pier de Los Muertos, the city center and Zona Romantica, which has many very high quality restaurants and a city center. where it is pleasant to walk, whether for entertainment, crafts, animation or just for the ambiance. Casa Kimberly, the former home of Elizabeth Taylor, has been converted into a restaurant and boutique hotel, an exceptional place to spend the evening, or the night.

The host hotel is the luxurious Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel which is located by the sea and within walking distance of the city center. It offers an infinity pool, a reserved section on the beach, luxuriously decorated rooms, baths with sea views and balconies, in addition to a spa and a gourmet restaurant. Little touches are on the program such as a pillow menu, 24 hour room service, massage on arrival and daily turn down service.
An activity not to be missed in Puerto Vallarta is exploring the island of Las Caletas, which is only accessible by boat. The day trip is offered on an all-inclusive basis and includes: transfer, food and drinks and a ton of activities to do once on the beautiful island, right in the middle of the jungle.

On site, it is possible to practice: SUP, kayaking, diving, snorkeling, attending a cooking or mixology class, in addition to enjoying the wild life and the observation of birds or rays. It feels like the end of the world. However, you should plan a full day for this activity.
Puerto Vallarta is an interesting destination for the diversity of its hotel offer, including several independent and boutique hotels, its gastronomy, its typical beaches on the Pacific side of Mexico where you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves, its mountainous valleys and its dramatic landscapes. In 2022, there will be more flights to PVR than there were before the pandemic, and, from Canada, it is easy to get there with Air Canada (via Toronto) or Air Transat.
